Frame country houses today are extremely popular among developers. Modern experts call this technology of building houses “housing of the future”, but what is a frame house in reality and how does it differ from “classic” buildings?
ADVANTAGES AND TECHNOLOGIES OF FRAME CONSTRUCTION
Frame houses have appeared recently, but in fact the technology is not new at all. The technology first appeared several hundred years ago, and it found a second wind at the end of the Second World War, when many residents of Europe needed new housing. Since that time, the technology has not stood still, but has been continuously improved, so today it is again at the peak of popularity and allows you to purchase modern housing on favorable terms. The main advantages of frame cottages are economy and speed of construction. It only takes 2 months to build a house with an area of up to 200 m2 . But these are far from all the features that cottages are valued for. Among them, you can also highlight:
- Extraordinary energy efficiency: the tightness of the structures allows you to quickly warm up the room, which reduces monthly payments for heating;
- Ease of construction: the elements of the house are very light and designed specifically for convenient installation, so heavy construction equipment is simply not needed, as well as dozens of workers;
- Diversity of planning: even quite “standard” projects can always be changed, replanned, and make every room of the house as functional as possible.
Also, frame cottages do not shrink, so you can move in immediately after the walls are erected. The walls of such houses are smooth and suitable for a wide variety of decoration, both outside and inside, which gives ample opportunities to create any appearance of the cottage.
HOW ARE FRAME HOUSES BUILT?
Modern suburban housing is built very simply and clearly. First of all, it should be noted that today there are many technologies based on the framework, which are very similar and yet have differences. Basically, there are only two types of cottages: frame-frame and frame-panel. The features of the first option are that in this case, frames and panels are manufactured at the factory in parts, and they are assembled into a pile, pasted with vapor and waterproofing already on the construction site. Frame-panel housing, in turn, is manufactured entirely at the supplier’s enterprise. In this case, panels with mounted insulation are simply assembled together in the required sequence on the site. Cottages are built quite standardly in several steps, such as:
- Construction of the foundation. The foundation can be strip or on screw piles. House structures are very light, so they do not need deep and strong foundations;
- Installation of the frame. The wall frame is sheathed with exterior decoration from the outside, and the inside has insulation and a closing panel;
- Construction of a roof;
- Installation of the floor.
At the final stage, the building is almost ready for living. The builders have only to make the finishing touches: to make sure of the sufficiency of insulation, vapor barrier and to carry out decorative finishing works.
