SOUND INSULATION OF THE FLOOR IN A FRAME HOUSE

We all know very well how uncomfortable it is to live in constant noise. High-quality noise insulation on the floor in a frame house can also make the home more comfortable, but it must be laid in the project at the stage of preparation.

TYPES OF NOISE IN A FRAME HOUSE AND HOW TO DEAL WITH THEM

Sharp sounds can negatively affect the quality of life and the nervous system of a person, therefore, installing sound insulation in the house is no less important than installing thermal insulation. There are three main types of noise:

  • Wind: this type includes sounds from a passing car, musical noise and loud speech;
  • Percussive: all artificial sounds are considered to be percussive – steps, knocking from falling objects on the floor;
  • Structural: such noises spread through walls and ceilings and arise in communication nodes.

There are many construction methods that will help neutralize extraneous sounds. First of all, you need to isolate yourself from external sounds. It is also important to localize internal noises so that they do not spread throughout the house.

SOUND INSULATION OF WALLS IN A FRAME HOUSE

When erecting the walls and partitions of a frame house, it is important to ensure that all possible gaps and openings through which sound will spread are closed. The intersections of communication pipes deserve special attention: the smaller the gaps in such places, the less the house will rattle and creak during various vibrations. For arranging the insulation in such cases, adhesive foam pads are used, which are glued at the joint. Sound insulation of interior partitions is performed by mounting additional thermal insulation mats. But in this matter, it is very important not to overdo it, because excessive silence in the house can also cause discomfort.

SOUND INSULATION OF THE FLOOR IN A FRAME HOUSE

Ceilings and floors in a frame house are the most vulnerable elements for noise. Therefore, floor insulation should be planned in any case. This also applies to the ceiling of frame cottages. Stretch and suspended ceilings are considered the most effective solution for ceiling insulation. The air space between the overhead structure and the floor of the second floor or attic dampens most of the vibrations. Suspended and stretch ceilings are also very stylish and cost-effective.

SOUND INSULATION OF THE FLOOR IN A FRAME HOUSE CAN BE OF SEVERAL TYPES:

  • “Floating” floor – the screed is laid on elastic insulation, while it does not come into contact with the walls;
  • Underlays for laminate are suitable for use also with parquet and are distinguished by the ease of working with them;
  • Construction on logs – wooden logs have a heat and sound insulating layer, which guarantees a quality effect.

Insulation can be laid from a wide variety of materials: loose, roll or slab. There are also ready-made slabs with insulation and noise insulator, which are conveniently and quickly installed and perform their functions effectively. But before choosing the necessary option, you should consult with specialists, because each material has both positive features and disadvantages.
